Large institutions use VWAP (volume-weighted average price), TWAP (time-weighted average price), and implementation shortfall algorithms to minimise market impact. A single order may execute over several hours or even days. The algorithm adjusts participation based on real-time liquidity, volatility, and order book imbalance. Dark Pools and Off-Market Liquidity
